Chaps
I put a Wilko wine kit on at the weekend but when I added the sugar I boiled it to add to the demi (couldn't see how to get it in without it sticking to the funnel unless i dissolved it). I didn't allow the solution to cool before adding the yeast.
Now it's been bubbling away fine and I topped up to the neck today, but I've since read a few guides that say that the solution should not feel warm before adding yeast. Mine was still warm.
Have I ruined it?

Wine kit - too hot?
Re: Wine kit - too hot?
If its bubbling then the yeast seem to have coped with the initial warmness, and unless it was really warm for the whole fermentation I don't think it will have been ruined, a taster when finished fermenting will give you a good idea.

Superb, thanks. I topped up on Day Three as per instructions and it seemed to take on a whole new lease of life, chucking wine up through the airlock, etc. It's currently sitting inside an empty FV to protect my furniture!
