Why is this so different?
One of my mates made a tc following my recipe,
2 bottles Polish Rasp Juice,
8Lts Tesco Rasp and Cran Juice
12Lts Tesco Apple Juice
3 mugs of tea, 4 bags each
3tsp Yeast and 3tsp Nutrient
My Yeast in at 22deg, His Yeast in at 24deg
My SG 1040, His SG 1068!
Why would the SG be so different? 2deg wouldn`t make that much difference, would it?

Re: Why is this so different?
Are you talking about SG before fermenting or immediately after adding the yeast If so 2°C wouldn't do that. The first thing to check is the hydrometers do they both read the same in water? It's the most probable cause.

I bet his isn't mixed well and he has too much of the polish raspberry cordial in his hydrometer sample. Or he was drunk when testing
Re: Why is this so different?
That does seem the most likely explanation - assuming he makes a lot of that stuff!Hanglow wrote:.........................Or he was drunk when testing
WA, I wonder how consistent the sugar content of the boxed juice is?
