Chris you legend.
I was idly wondering this the other day and thought it would be a good use of what is effectively a unhopped extract beer. You could even consider it "green thinking" and "recycling" if you were that way inclined.

Thats what mine has been lacking, I thought it may have been the lack of an olive or a twist of orange peel or even a cocktail umbrella, but of course, the pièce de résistance. 'some strange stringy things'Chris-x1 wrote: I didn't mention the strange reaction that first occurs when you add it though...some strange stringy things appeared when I first added it-but I drank it anyway(they dissapeared eventually though).

it will have little or no alcohol content though as the yeast should be kept in aerobic mode all the way through for growth
producing co2 and water not co2 and alcohol.

Or you could used hopped DME to make your starters...

Re: Isomerised Hop Extract.
I must admit, I take wort from the boiler when I'm using nottingham (though I just use it to get the yeast used to the wort for an hour or so) - I always pour the lot into the brew, as well.Chris-x1 wrote:unless you take it early on from the boiler and can it as I generally try to do as it makes much more productive starters.
