Chris you legend.

I was idly wondering this the other day and thought it would be a good use of what is effectively a unhopped extract beer. You could even consider it "green thinking" and "recycling" if you were that way inclined.
Planning - Not for a long while

Fermenting - I'm Done

Bottle Maturing - Hobgoblin, Fullers ESB, American Stout, TOP, Fullers London Porter, Bandini Black IPA

Drinking - Still...Whiskey

Thats what mine has been lacking, I thought it may have been the lack of an olive or a twist of orange peel or even a cocktail umbrella, but of course, the pièce de résistance. 'some strange stringy things' :D

it will have little or no alcohol content though as the yeast should be kept in aerobic mode all the way through for growth
producing co2 and water not co2 and alcohol.

I must admit, I take wort from the boiler when I'm using nottingham (though I just use it to get the yeast used to the wort for an hour or so) - I always pour the lot into the brew, as well.
