I recently bought a wyeast pack of 1028 london ale made jan 2007 bestbeforedec2007 I bought it cold, got it home and put it straight in the fridge for a day.
2 days before brewday I smacked... and waited.. and waited after 24 no swelling

ive had this before so i went ahead and made up a starter 1L/100g DME boiled cooled to 22C and poured in the yeast and shook the hell out of it.
(incubating at 21C) 6hrs later. nothing. no gas no sediment no bubbles. 12hrs nothing.
anyone had this trouble?
