Turbo Cider Problem

It takes 10 1/2 days to make a gallon of it........ and about 4 hours to drink :P
Maybe bigger batches are the way forward? :P

I did have some very kind assistance from my dad....

For some reason, he felt the need to retire at 9:30 :P

Two bottles a night are enough for me.. but mine is 8%!

Drank five bottles last week, god never again! Now I'm brewing it without sugar for a slightly less lethal 5-6%.

I found staggering batches works quite well. Put one on and then about four days later put another one on. That way there's always one on the go while the other is being bottled or restarted.

Now I have nine demijohns from Freecycle I'm not really pushed for containers, just space and goodwill. ;)

You can also reuse the yeast by pitching a further four litres of juice straight on to the sediment left from the previous batch to speed things up. I've successfull done this to the yeast at least three times before I chickened out and started afresh. Might try and see how long I can keep a single sachet of yeast going for before I get an infection.

* warning, reusing yeast will result in some serious fermentation!!!

Well, TCs #2 and #3 are on the go...... with #4 probably to follow soon.

On an almost unrelated note, has anyone tried maple syrup as an ingredient, or maybe as a priming sugar? Seems to me that it would make an nice addition to a TC
