Cost of BREW...Kits V AG.

For me, cost isn't an issue. What is, is trying to make the best beer I can. The fact that it needn't cost very much is a welcome bonus. The whole Kit/AG thing isn't a valid comparison because you're not comparing like for like. What's really should be asked is.....how does the cost of making mediocre beer compare with the cost of making great beer?

The choice is fairly simple. If you want to make cheap booze quickly and with a minimum of effort and are quite happy once past the first mouthful or two, then stick to kits. If you enjoy the craft of brewing and enjoy drinking good beer then AG is where it's at. Cost is largely irrelevant because the differences need not be massive.

There's a deep sense of satisfaction and wellbeing I get from grain brewing (when it's not all going wrong ;) ) which is probably a deep rooted instinctive thing stemming from the fact that we are engaged in a craft that's almost as old as prostitution, and which was regarded as a basic necessity of life. :)

Dunno yet. Looks great though. Very purposeful, very shiny! I'm stupidly busy at the moment with the annoying burden of non-brewing real-life activities, but I need to get a brew on very soon - Lager. It'll be used then.

Cheers,

Steve
