SWMBO is mightily annoyed at the moment, mainly due to the smell! I told her that I need a boiler so I can brew in the shed, hope it works!

good work I D and nice piccies,

what kind of brew is it? I saw the styrians but cannot guess

keep pestering her for the boiler, all women give in eventually.....personally I think the smell is great when you're brewing

you seem to have to exact same worktops and a smaller version of the tiles I have in my kitchen also...good choice, great minds think alike

It's a kind of pale ale type brew type thing!

Pale malt extract, dry and liquid.

Fuggles for 60 mins (62g)

Goldings for 15 mins (20g)

Styrians for 1 min (30g)

Counter top and tiles from Wickes. Think you are right about great minds. :)

great stuff ID,

you'll have to give your brew a name if it's your own concocted recipe.

post some pics when it's in the pint glass then, if you get the chance that is, cause once it's ready to be in a pint pot mine's usually gone...........

Had an issue with my starter (I actually think I pitched it too early when the wort was a wee bit warm) so sprinked on a packet of Gervin and here is the result:

Are you using the partial boil method or boiling the full volume of your beer?
Good stock pot there.

I too bought the pirex jug after reading DaaB's 'how to' page!

In response to Frothy, it's only a 16 quart pot so I did a partial boil. Going to have to get my wort chiller up and running, dumped 2 gallons of hot wort in the fermenter and topped up with cold water but the temperature was still 100f +.

I left it a bit but the temperature was probably still too high when I pitched my carefully prepared starter so I had to use more yeast when things got cooler.

The kids were helping to weigh out the hops, more clean up but they seemed to enjoy it!

As you can see, my house is a tip! I like to blame the kids for that, got those two, a 6 month old boy and one in the oven, due at the end of July!

It's had 2 weeks in primary and I kegged it (King Keg) on Sunday. Had a sneeky slurp when I was racking it and it tasted absolutely bloody marvelous!

I'm going to have a wee slurp now, see if it's cleared up any.
