Hi all found this forum after I made my first batch bottles it tongiht so I hope it tastes good.
I used a Youngs Bitter starter kit.
I had it in the fermenting bucket for 6 and a half days. I waited until it looked it it stopped bubbling. and I put some into grolsh bottles and rest into a pressure barrel. I put the sugar straight into the barrel and the Bottles should this work ok ?
New Brewer saying Hello
hi yes it worked out fine. I measued out the Sugar for the Keg and then took the half teaspoons out of that I checked on the barrel and it has a nice head on it so I know it is fermenting again.
Now how soon can I crack open a bottle ? Is there ever a time that is too soon once you bottle. If I wiat say until Friday should that be long enough

Don't forget one of these weeks will be the 'warm week' which allows the yeast to do its work on the priming sugars to create carbonation. After that they can go out into the garage/shed or wherever. TBH I dont have a cool place to store my beer this time of year. The yeast does drop once it has no more sugars to ferment but takes longer in the warm weather.Gepa wrote:hi yes it worked out fine.
