Autumn Saison

Post by Hanglow » Fri Sep 16, 2016 1:43 pm

Brewed 11 days ago, bottled today. Priming sugar is in the recipe . DEcided to keep it simple again, no spices at flamout this time. Just quite hoppy. Sample tasted good with good body from the yeast again - should say it was belle saison not the one listed . First time I've used Bo pils malt, I did a step mash too for beta amylase then a sacchrification step. No idea if it was worth it :)

I use beersmith and it calculates it using the tinseth formula - which probably isn't that accurate but once you do a few batches you end up knowing what sort of bitterness you should shoot for in the software that matches your taste :)

This is a good beer - the hopping is quite restrained though for the amount I put in. Still, a pleasant beer. Next saison I do though will have a different yeast
