I think that was my third brew, and still one of my favourites! Proud that someone else took it up, glad you like it! I might rebrew with a simpler malt bill and maybe some dry hopping...Cazamodo wrote:It was a recipe from a post here

For Pilsner I used the lager malt I have, and as for the actual amounts, I have them written somewhere but cant for the life of me find them! Ill have to work it out again for a 5gallon batch.
I laos used US-05 and have no problem with it not compacting in the bottles. Maybe though as i under primed there is less in them. Im tempted to pour all the bottle into my keg and carb up but I think I would be just asking for an infection.

I had Brodies Citra at the weekend 3.8% and a very sharpe taste, slightly astringent. Whilst the convention is that blonde beers present these citrussy hops at their best they need some body or else the hop dominates in a bad way, some carapils or caragold is great to get round this. I'm also thinking that citra may be just as good in a blend. I,m drinking a citra and delta blend in a blonde with aromatic malt for added body, which is pretty good, but I reckon if I scale the aromatic back and add carapils to produce a less assertive malt and replace some of the delta with challenger the cascade like notes of the delta will be linked to the citra by the challenger, so that I'll add perhaps 50g of citra with 5m to boil end then cool a bit and chuck the rest of the bag in. I think that will present the citra nicely
