This is Mrs H's favourite ag lager, hopefully I will be up early tomorrow to set it away. It is based on a gravity of 1042 @ 79% effiency, 23L.
Lager Malt 2784g
British Caramalt 398g
Flaked Maize 398g
Brewing Sugar 398g
Saaz hops start of boil, 20 EBU
DCL Saflager yeast
Mrs H also likes a lighter, Pilsner version of this brew, I simply change the Lager malt with Pilsner malt & the British caramalt with Carapils malt.

Yes, it is a UK style lager I am making for Mrs H and to my knowledge they are not normally late or dry hopped and I have never done so myself.Just one hop addition at the start of the boil?
It is listed under caramel malts on the H&G website along with crystal malt, however it is much lighter in colour, the EBC rating is 3-5. It is classed as a "body builder" of the lager world in the same way that crystal malt is regarded in bitters. Is caramalt the same as crystal malt?
