Brewpi Fan

Post by Ren » Wed Oct 26, 2016 4:54 pm

Hello!

Been working on brewpi, but I am not sure about which would be the best way to connect fan to it?
Do it seperate and run it 24h or connect it to Arduino as I understand 0.2.10 version of firmware has been coded to support one?
Can someone, please, share their thoughts and experiences.

Thanks

I run mine 27/4 with no issues - I think it is the easiest solution, tbh. I use a 240v computer fan so I don't have to muck about with a separate 12v power pack and simply have it hard wired from the power that feeds the SSRs for fridge/heater.

if using a dc fan its probably easiest to power it from the boards power in voltage 24/7, i wouldnt draw power to drive even a low powered fan motor off an arduino i/o pins voltage,
ist update for months n months..

Fan on 24/7 you want it to distribute both the cold air and the warm air to maintain the environment as stable as possible within the fridge.

No symbol, it has the symbol above small holes on the edges of the fan.

the earth isnt carrying any electricity, its just a safety feature,if its carrying electricity then youve got a problem, the idea is if a fault developed were the metalwork becomes live due to a fault the earth wire acts a a quick escape route ,instead of the slower path through your body
