Brewpi Fan
Brewpi Fan
Hello!
Been working on brewpi, but I am not sure about which would be the best way to connect fan to it?
Do it seperate and run it 24h or connect it to Arduino as I understand 0.2.10 version of firmware has been coded to support one?
Can someone, please, share their thoughts and experiences.
Thanks

Re: Brewpi Fan
I run mine 27/4 with no issues - I think it is the easiest solution, tbh. I use a 240v computer fan so I don't have to muck about with a separate 12v power pack and simply have it hard wired from the power that feeds the SSRs for fridge/heater.

Re: Brewpi Fan
if using a dc fan its probably easiest to power it from the boards power in voltage 24/7, i wouldnt draw power to drive even a low powered fan motor off an arduino i/o pins voltage,
ist update for months n months..

Re: Brewpi Fan
Fan on 24/7 you want it to distribute both the cold air and the warm air to maintain the environment as stable as possible within the fridge.

No symbol, it has the symbol above small holes on the edges of the fan.themadhippy wrote:does it need one? if this symbol is on it then no earth is requiredso I bought a 240v pc fan but it has only 2 wires, any advice on how to ground it?

Re: Brewpi Fan
the earth isnt carrying any electricity, its just a safety feature,if its carrying electricity then youve got a problem, the idea is if a fault developed were the metalwork becomes live due to a fault the earth wire acts a a quick escape route ,instead of the slower path through your bodyIts just weird, because the earth wire woul be kinda bar
