Sounds like to much pressure in the barrel (it happens) try releasing a little bit of pressure from the barrel and try again. Or better still try chilling the barrel (if you can get it in the fridge) as this will make the C)2 be absorbed back into the beer and lowers the pressure. :D

I am not clever, I read it on Daabs website ;)

Have a look at that page, theres a bit near the bottom under the heading 'Serving'

I don't like gasy beers so tend to let the co2 pressure out regularly, squeeze the rubber washer, then aid the dispensing by using gas. I hope CAMRA aren't reading!

my kegs are always over frothy to start, and calm down as you work your way thru the beer. I'm just extra wary to start with and use a spanner on the tap to make it easier to open the tap by only the smallest amount.

My KK doesn't have a pressure release, so this is the only way around it.

My HBard keg does have a pressure valve, and as i've let the pressure out as explained above, now i'm getting down the barrel the pressure is right down.

So which gas do i use for the HB? is it the small 1 shot cylinders, or the larger ones? and how much do they cost? and what are they called?
