Cuchulain Ale 2

This recipe was such a big hit with ME :D that i'm doing a variation of it again tomorrow, gonna give it a bit more bite. Again i'm designing it without the help of software so if something doesn't add up feel free to shoot me down. The horizion i dry hopped with last time gave an aroma i didn't like, very sweet so they're getting the boot, also i'm gonna sub the willamet hops for the trusty syrian goldings :D

Maris Otter 5.5kg
Chocolate 200grm
Crystal 500g
Carapils 250grm
60 min hops
27 grm Syrian Goldings
25grm Fuggles
15 min hops
30 grm Fuggles
30 grm Syrian Goldings
1 whirfloc tab
25 grm Fuggles 0 mins
Yeast S04
Also i'll dry hop to the keg with an 3/4 ounce of someting

Had one little hiccup, i plugged in the kettle and went in to sit down to watch moto gp, when i checked it it was still cold. The electricity to the shed failed again  Anyway we went back to the trusty extension lead but it slowed me up quite a bit. Just waiting for the wort to reach the boil now.

Nice brew, really enjoyed it. Don't know how much wort i collected at 1058 but i wouldn't fancy putting anymore in the fermenter. I'd say i'm pushing it to the limit already, i might have a bit of cleaning up to do tomorrow. Also i'm trying my fermenter box thingy for the first time so fingers crossed it works out alright [-o< did check it a few times already and it seems to be holding at about 17 degrees

Think the problem is DaaB i got him to hook it up with a plug at the ouse end of things so i can plug it in and out as i need it but the fuse keeps blowing in the plug. It's a 3 amp fuse so probably i need a better fuse? i know as much about electricity as i do about women "it's dangerous" :D

You'll need a 13 amp fuse AT.

Glad to hear the brew finally went well 8)

Just one element and a light bulb  and in my defence i'm not very clever although i was gonna try a 13 amp fuse next

DaaB wrote:Well the element draws 10a alone, then there's a small amount for the light. You also need to consider the length and rating of the cable, I expect Sparky Paul can offer some advice there. I think outbuildings should technically have their own consumer unit too and I don't think the regs recommend running one from a 13a socket.
I hear you barking dawg but if you seen the wiring in my house you'd agree the safest bet is the 13 amp fuse
