Decided I needed to to some tweaking to my equipment so what better way to test it than to have a brew.
Andy was right about the bubble wrap insulation so got some silver bubble stuff for the HLT and the boiler. It was fine in the warm weather but now the temp has dropped need to insulate my Shinies
Changed all the hose locks bits to the brass ones.
rebuilt my hop strainer after the failure on Tuesday.
Made a copper gas dip tube for my cornie, had one missing.
Well the beer of choice was Timmy Taylors Landlord
20l @45 75% eff
4kg maris
25g fuggles
25g styrian
10g goldings late
whirlifloc 15mins
gervin ale yeast
Everything going smoothly now, no leaks or spills yet, all taps have been shut. Just very dark now nearing the end of the boil so better go supervise it and obviously quality control some of the other beer I have .
Should be done by 10 pm
