I may have to try an evening brew if you can get a pre midnight finish. Just out of interest what time did you get started?

I was thinking I could get the grain weighed out the night before and put the mash water on via a timer to be ready to go when I got home the 90 minute mash period could give me time to cook and clear away tea. Thus freeing up my weekends to scruttle round the allotment. The cheese butty would be the clincher though  I may have to look into this evening brewing lark.

I grabbed everything from the garage at half five, rinsed the boiler filled it and put it on to heat the mash liquor at 5.45 then weighed out while that was coming up to temp. Next time ill do that the night before...Im impressed, just watching this weeks Sky+'d top gear while it chills.....easy 8)

Cheese Bap gone, just had a snickers...what a bad lad. :D

All done & dusted by 11:40pm - got 25L @ 1048 so a little below what I was aiming for (1052) but should still be a 4.5% - 5% beer. For me evening brews will be a god send, even managed a couple of pints during the brew which was a first for me.

I think the loss in efficiency is down to the fact that I used the last of a 25kg sack of pale, but its no major issue, the last HS that I brewed I overshot and ended up at 6% so itll be nice to be able to drink more that 3 pints of it without talking scribble

Well done Wez, i've often thought about an evening brew but as we've got a new kitchen, i'd have to brew outside and its a little 'fresh' at the moment!

I haven't tried my Hooky Street yet, its in the corny waiting......for christmas!

I was a bit worried this morning about this one as it hadn't got out of the fermenting blocks very quickly but when I got home from work tonight I got this..

DaaB's Flying Starter hasn't let me down yet.

With regard to Monday evening brews I think for me they are the way forward I'll be able to get prepped and weighed out on a Sunday night so as soon as I get home from work on Monday I switch the boiler on, have tea while it's coming up to temp then set about doughing in. I'm going to try to do an evening brew on the next 3 mondays, thats all of the Wez Kegs filled up. Then I'll just do a brew as a keg gets emptied.

Edit - It wouldn't be a brewday thread without a pic would it
