There seems to be some backlash about the braided hose so be careful before you make one. I think Andy came up with the idea but has recently said he is going to make a copper one instead as apparently it has a tendancy to clog.

I can't claim any credit for coming up with the idea, just nicked it off t'internet :D
Buy yes, I've had hassles with stuck mashes when using it.

The stainless braid seems to work OK with batch sparging where the grain bed is roused a short time before running off. They don't seem to fare so well with a fly sparge approach where the bed has spent the entire mash duration settling down on top of the braid, this seems to block it up.

That's my experience anyway.

my incident with the stainless is well documented! :rolleyes:
It certainly was easy to make but the copper wasnt too tricky either with a pipe cutter and hacksaw and if using 15mm pipe was similar in cost ( around £10)
