Phew, bottling up one batch while making another makes for a busy day. Still, I got my Westmalle Dubbel inspired brew (Abbey Daze) into bottles and - just for this lovely season - made some Summer Ale:
For 19 liter:
3.5kg Pale Malt
350g Cara-Pils
-- 75 mins mash at 67deg.C
16g Target - 75 mins
25g Styrian Goldings - 15 mins
25g Styrian Goldings - 1 min
o.g. 1.048 - Est. IBU 30
Yeast - Safale S04
I'll also be dry hopping after a week with another 25g of Styrian for a couple of weeks. I think I'll call it 'Styrian Summer'.
Bottling and Brewday.
Thanks - now all I need to do is to decide what the next brew will be. I'm thinking either a strong stout or perhaps a barley wine. I've nearly run out of the stout I made to PieOPah's recipe so that needs restocking.DaaB wrote:Haven't seen you for around for a while, welcome back![]()
The hard work will be worth it, next time you brew brew you'll be drinking your Styrian Summer, and bottling
... but, barley wine.... mmmmm...
