Best kit for Christmas

Post by retourrbx » Thu Nov 29, 2007 9:48 am

I'm thinking of getting my Pa a kit for Christmas - what do you think would be the best? He likes a tasty bitter - thinking of Wherry perhaps...

Has there ever been a "review the kit" thread made up?

Ideally I would source it from my LHBS or Wilkos...

Thanking you :)

The BRUPACKS taste of yorkshire kits like Fixby Gold are amazing.

Admirals Reserve is also a good one from Woodefordes.

If he doesn't mind doing kits with spray malt then Coopers Real Ale kit is a beaut made with spray malt.

I'll echo DaaB here, my first kit was a Cooper's Dark Ale and was very easy to make up although I added a kilo of Light DME in lieu of sugar.

It's coming along very nicely.

Is there any explanation as to the off the beat coopers recipe additions?

Why not just a kilo of DME?

AH fair enough :)

I think i will stick to the 1kg of Light spray malt. I quite liked the taste when i made the Coopers Real Ale and IPA.

Done the same with their Special Reserve IPA.

Thanks Daab.
