The great Muntons gamble

Despite seeing so many stuck fermentaion posts i have taken the plunge and set a Woodfrodes Wherry going last night. It was a bargain at £14.99 from wilkos so hey ho. Anyway used Safale 04, added 850g of suplemental glucose and made up to 4 gallons not 5 just in case the the sitcky fairies get hold of it so i should at least get a reasonable alcohol content. This morning all was looking good with a nice head in the FV so fingers crossed. :D

lets hope your wherry doesnt get stuck,

a stuck kit is worse than stubbing your toe on the corner of the bed

Had a look last night and the gravity has dropped to 1016, with still a wee bit of activity going on. Looks like its going to make it to the hallowed grounds of the desired final gravity no problem. Dont know what i was worried about  :D

Sheepy, after adding 850g extra fermentables and reducing to 4 gallons, what was the OG?
Let us know how it turns out!

Good luck.

The OG was about 1062 but the temp was about 28C when this was measured so the reading will be a wee bit out. With any luck i should be kegging this weekend so may well have to have a small sample, just for quality control of course :)
