That's the beauty of trying other peoples beers
I'll drink to that, I'm having a great time tasting everyones beer. SWMBO has pointed out that I have spent more money sending my beer in the last fortnight than I have spent all year buying beer (pub beer excluded).
When you pay the money to the PO it's a crapper  , but the reviews you get back are worth the money IMO plus you get to review someone elses - it would be good to have a local bi-monthly meet near me (Midlands) but this is the next best thing :D 8)

Wez, when I was sending your beer this morning the bloke in front of me was sending a 2.2kg package to Australia - it cost £48 ](*,) . Now that better be a good beer.

Right, after Christmas is Easter, i'll be brewing my Elderflower enhanced seasonal named 'Wezerection' again, who's up for one of those?
Need you ask
Hopefully I'll have some other beers bottled for the next round.

The one thing that's stuck in my mind from trying these beers is the difficulty in trying to recreate cask carbonation.
Another is a taste I can't identify but it's been present in a few of the beers I've tried....i think J_P might be onto something :!:

I'm certainly up for this in the New Year. Probably better if we wait until we have a few bottles (or multiples of the same) and use the service that Vossy posted earlier in the thread as it is certainly more cost effective.

Not yet. I did the Old Grumpy as an experiment. Fortunately it worked rather well 8) . I plan to work through the bottle mountain in my garage and will certainly be trying to experiment with this type of beer in the future.

My stock beer is called Malcolms Tower (see my avatar). It is similar to Worthingtom White Shield (I actually had a draft pint of WWS in Burton in July - I thought mine was better :P ). It is very poplular with friends and family. I also have some IPA that I bottled back in 2004 that is drinking rather well at the moment (that sounds flippant but it was bottled without priming due to one of Graham Wheelers books). It was as flat for the first year but is lovely now.

So many beers, so little time.

Do you get to Burton often or was that a one off? It's 20 mins from me

Nothing wrong with blowing ones own trumpet
IMO if a beer tastes great to you, then it is
Even better with homebrew, cause there's no need to worry about what other people think  ....it's not as if you'd stop brewing it if it wasn't to someones taste anyway

Cheers, just found out that PhotoBucket have a tool that will resize files to avatar size. 8) Its an artists impression of an old ruin about half a mile from my house. It is called Malcolm's Tower and was the residence of an ancient King of Scotland in the 11th century (Dunfermline was the capital at the time). The history around this area is staggering (Robert Bruce is burried about 400 yards from the Tower).

We had our "summer" holiday just outside Matlock. It was hissing down one day so we went for a trip in the car. Surprisingly we stumbled on the History of Brewing Museum in Burton  . If you ignore the Coors adverts everywhere it really is a good day out (even wife and kids enjoyed it).
