Still spirits turbo range

Post by Kmx125 » Sun Dec 16, 2007 12:37 am

First of all i'd like to say hi as i'm new to the forum and new to home brewing.

Basicly what i want to to know is - are the Still spirit turbo range any good? Do you need to to use a still(Not prepared to do for obvious reasons)? And are they as quick they say? ie 24, 48 hours etc.

Reason being is i have purchased all the kit to do a alcotec spirit base kit but that takes almost 4 weeks and i want to brew something for new years eve (leaving it a bit late i know  )

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

Don't know about the kit, sorry.

But I do know about Turbo Cider and you could easily knock some of that up in time for NYE.

Check the threads below on the subject.

I haven't tried, but I'd expect any high alcohol fermented product, based almost entirely on sugar to taste fairly awful. TC is quick, easy, fairly cheap, and can be made plenty alcoholic enough :P

Thanks for the advice guys, off into town now to pick up some apple juice + yeast :D . This may be obvious but does it have to be apple juice or can i make it with any?

Gonna also do the spirit kit see how it goes so i'll let you know the results (in about 4 weeks 8) )

In the bucket is the spirit kit and in the demijohn 4.5Ltr of AJ 150gm of sugar(don't know why i chose 150gm just did lol) and tspn of youngs super wine yeast compound (again dunno if this is right but it was all wilko had  )

Is this ok and more importantly will it be ready to get sloshed on for NYE as it is bubbling slow and not the explosion ppl describe on here
