Fejioa TC

Post by Martin the fish » Fri Dec 28, 2007 11:36 am

Where i now live in NZ we have a tree that bears an enormous amount of fruit v similar to a kiwi fruit called a fejioa(may be spelt wrong-sorry)
It's very sugary and juicy. I think it'll make great TC. It's got a month or so to go before it bears ripe fruits so i'm gonna get a couple of standard TC's in in the meantime. Just for practise. 8)
I'm hoping the fejioa will give me enough to do a 20 litre batch. If so i will be down on my knees to this previously 'annoyingly productive' fruit tree.
There's only so much fejioa crumble a man can eat...

Chuck the entire trees fruit harvest into the 25000 ltr concrete water tank, add a few gallons of yeast and you'll soon forget about any water shortage   :P

Put anything in a pie that could be fermented, I never understood the whole fruit pie thing.

If this fruit is simular to kiwi fruit, then why not make wine. Kiwi fruit makes a fantastic crisp dry white wine.
