From pressurised keg to bottles

Post by MacDuck » Fri Jan 04, 2008 2:56 pm

Hello All

My first brew is loosing the medicinal taste - thank goodness, and is now starting to be rather pleasant to drink. Shame I only have about 7 bottles left. (been about 6-8 weeks in the bottle now).

I have another brew in my king keg, which seems to really be under pressure. I am wondering if I can bottle this beer from the keg without loosing the gas from the beer? Is this type of thing done? I have read something somewhere about allowing the beer to fall bright before bottling... is this what would be happening here? I guess I would transfer the keg to the outside shed to allow maximum absorption of the CO2 into the brew before transfering to bottles...?

Thanks
Charles
