Coopers European Lager

Has anyone else done this kit and been pleased with it?

This is my 3rd attempt at homebrewing, after doing 2 lots of Coopers Lager, and until drinking it i thought it had been my most successful yet!! With previous brews i have had problems keeping the temperature below 27 etc etc, but with this one it was textbook homebrewing!!! Bubbled away nicely for a few days, checked hydrometer after a week, alls well!

Primed the bottles with the Coopers sugar drops as before...ideal!

After leaving it a week (as i had done before) i have now come to drink it and it's......ermm...just not very alchoholic! It's fizzy enough...and tastes perfect, but it just don't get me even tipsy :(

With the Coopers Lager i brewed before, 4 bottles and i was fully feeling the effect! With this European Lager 4 bottles and it's like i may as well have drunk non - alchohol beer :?

Does 'European lager' mean 'weak lager'?

Disappointed :(

What were your OG and FG readings?

I don't think this will help you with your alcohol content, but one thing the Coopers web site recommends is to condition this lager for at least 12 weeks after bottling....

European lager does not mean weak lager! What were your gravity readings?

the reading..... my Coopers kit came with a hydrometer thats got a green START / FINISH line to make it easy for newbies like me...and it was deffo on the FINISH line... 1012??

I didnt add Coopers Brew Enhancer 2...is that more for the flavour though?

I had a few more last night and it is alcohohic..but i guess i was expecting it to be 'knock your head off' style, like my first 2 Coopers attempts.
