Post by mctoon » Thu Feb 07, 2008 3:27 pm

Hello All,

Just moved my Beer from the warm 2 weeks into my garage, then i noticed the brown pressue release seal was split then fell off

Obviously there will be no pressure left in the barral, and at the moment i have no new seals ,,, does that men my beer it ruined?

Cheers Mal

I would say it will just be flat as CO2 is heavier than air the air would have been pushed out and a layer of CO2 would have protected the beer , if you get a new seal you should be able to force carbonate if you have the equipment to do so.

Oh Dear,

Managed to get 1/3 of a pint off it before the "up gulp" through the tap,,,,,,tasted ,,,oh dear,,,,

need to go to the HB shop pronto for some CO2 or is it too late?

KIt was a cheap Geordie Yorkshire bitter, dry hopped with Fuggles and 1Kg light spray and 250g glucose,,,, just as well i did the same brew previous and tastes very nice,,,so its not all bad :D

What does it taste like, "Oh Dear" doesn't confer much information.

Sorry MM, I could only describe as flat and a bit "sour",, my only hope is too inject some C02 tomorrow, but then again it has been sitting there for 4 days now without a seal
