Big Breweries replacement
Big Breweries replacement
What do you think large breweries will use instead of the normal Styrian Goldings that have been around recently, if they run out?
Do you think a "Bobek Stunner" might be pretty much the same as the old favourite?

Breweries with contracts do. That's the idea of a contract. Breweries without hop contracts (most micros) are in the same boat as us - except if they don't get hops they go bust.nobby wrote: Thats why we cant get some hops, Breweries get them first
When I was in the hop and grape the other day, Patsy was saying due to shortages in various hop types a lot of microbreweries are going to her to buy them. She had someone in who bought £500 of one variety, goldings I think, but i'm not sure. She says it was due to them not having a contract with the hop supplier but her shop did.
Oh, and due to a warehouse fire in the usa, a whole crop was wasted making them short too.
