forgot the irish moss

Post by buckfast » Sat Mar 08, 2008 4:54 pm

Hello all.
Had a straight forward brewing sesh today, well until i remembered I'd forgotten to add the irish moss!
Will this really matter? I'm so annoyed with myself.

1.045 OG
4Kg MO pail malt
500g crystal malt
250g torrified wheat

50g challanger 60 min
10g fuggles 30 min
5g fuggles 5 min

Cheers.

I wish that I had a pound for every time I had done that myself!

Don't worry about it buckfast, your brew will still taste ok at the end, which is what we all aim for. It may throw a chill haze if you chill it, but there is nothing which will cause you any harm in there.

if i make the secondary fermentation a bit cooler, will that help with the chill haze problem.

cheers.

Like Daab said - give it a little longer and the haze will drop out fine without irish moss.
