Unfortunately, I now have to call this brew "Triple Crown" - though it's better than having any reference whatsoever to England's dire performance yesterday. Good grief.

I have also decided to name my "brewery" : Beorhthelm Brewery

(funny old name, but "Beorhthelm's-tun" thought to be the Anglo-Saxon origin of the place where I live)

So, pictures of Beorhthelm - Triple Crown...

Mash in at 67.5°C.

pH check - think it was OK... :?

Nice clear run-off:

Last bit of runnings from the kettle - lost a few litres to the hops and the small bit of dead space in the boiler - may try and see if I can reduce that at some point, but would have to re-engineer the hop strainer, and a bit loathed since the run off is fairly good as is.

Anyhow, landed up with 21L ish at 1.041 after diluting the boiler run off a bit . The S-04 is currently throwing up loads of krausen and not as near as much trub as the last brew.

Actually I tried it with the halogen, and it doesn't heat up anyway near as well as using the kettle elements in the boiler (I was going to use 1 element and the hob) - but the 2 elements on their own are much more efficient.

Hmmm... not sure - it's hard enough having to put up with SWMBO going on about the Welsh rugby team (she's still going on after England gifted them the first win... ). Not sure I can face brewing another one next week in case they beat the French (though that's tough - always good to see the French beaten  )

Maybe I'll see if I have time next week...and argue over names with the missus later
