I'm brewing this one later this afternoon. Had nice results with a crystal and biscuit malt mix in a strong bitter, so am trying it in a session beer:

Berts Best

UK Pale Ale Malt 3.629 kg 90.0 %
Belgian Biscuit Malt 0.161 kg 4.0 %
UK Medium Crystal 0.161 kg 4.0 %
UK Torrified Wheat 0.081 kg 2.0 %

UK Challenger 5.6 % 30 g 90 mins
UK Golding 4.3 % 30 g 5 mins
UK Golding 4.3 % 50 g during cooling post 80 degrees

Mashing at 67 degrees
Fermenting with Gervin Ale yeast using a DFS

26 IBU
4.1% ABV

Thanks chaps 8)

All went to plan. I got a little better efficiency than expected - OG 1044 instead of 1041, so I rinsed the hop bed out with a kettle of boiled water (as taught to my be the great Tubby Shaw) to squeeze a bit more out of it.

Hoping this one is going to be ready quite speedily - am I right to expect that for a smaller beer?

Matt
