There's no problem with the recipe Garth but I've decided that I'm not a big fan of Bramling Cross so probably won't do it again.

fair enough, I liked the smell from the packet and the boil is on now and the stink is pleasant, so we'll see till it's in the pint glass

In the original MO recipe the brambling cross comes across as a light blackcurrant leaf flavour. With the big increase in amount of steeping hops the flavour is more intense but certainly not bitter or harsh.
The only other poster who has tried this brew is Gurgeh, who, if he picks up on this post might give a clearer description of the flavour.
Have only got three 113g blocks of Brambling Cross left, so might eke them out by going for the thinner brew in the summer

I've got Bramlings just planted in the garden and on the abck of SC's beer i'll try 'sunshine' first I think!

Having that heap of hops right at then end is so worth while and the bitterness was very smooth indeed.

Wish I had another bottle so i could indulge in some detailed flavour wittering!
