Roasting Malt

Post by Reg » Tue Dec 06, 2005 9:51 am

I appreciate there are many good reasons for letting the professional do this to a known quality standard, but in the spirit of learning everything possble about the craft has anyone ever had a go at taking their malts further down the crystalisation chain???

My wife has coeliac disease, so gluten free beer would be great. I have a suspicion that the work involved would be more than it was worth, though.

Of course if I was the one with coeliac disease....... :P

I don't think rye is any good for coeliacs either; I'd have to check with the Mrs.
