15-03-08 barleywine

10 litre recipe

pale malt 3.25 kg
crystal 0.5 kg
black 30g

edit: golden syrup 100g
treacle 25g

100g, of fuggles

mash at 66-67 C for 90 mins

I'll be using S04 and if he poops out i'll finish it off with something like nottingham, at least thats the plan, i also have some dry US-05.

Any suggestions.

80g at 90 mins and 20g at 20min

The black is just ordinary black malt.

Came out at 1090, but i was a bit short of 10 Litres, i forgot how much 100g of hops soak wort in.

I'd love to brew this style one day. Do you have to decant every 4 months for a couple of times? The recipe I read in Dave Lines book calls for that kind of treatment.
