Anyone ever tried this? Was thinking it might be a nice one for the summer, along with my 'Lemon and ginger infused Wherry' that I'm thinking of trying. (well, half a batch with the infusion)

I brewed the Dusseldorfer Altbier from the 10 Litre Beers of the World kit by Brupaks.
It's the first time I've done it and I went into it totally blind, having never tasted a commercial version of this beer
It was bottled 22/3/08 and as I go back to sea to work for a month tomorrow I had to open a bottle....... I know but I couldn't help it.
If this is what it tastes like after only a week in the bottle this is going to be a beauty!!!
I'm no expert at describing tastes, flavours etc. but I would say if anything it is very similar to a porter.

I can't believe how good it tastes after only a week in the bottle. I had a strange feeling I wouldn't like it when it was fermenting and almost regretted buying it on spec like I did.DaaB wrote:Well that doesn't look to bad at all.
Some people might be put off by the price of these kits but they are an ideal size for lazy bottlers and the quality is outstanding. The only one I've done that I wasn't too keen on was the Yorkshire Bitter
