new - Milestone Lion's Pride

Hi there guys -

beer nerd new to brewing - after inheriting some gear from a relative, bought the milestone Lion's Pride pack upon recommendation.

couple of questions before i get started in a couple of weeks-

1. Cleaning. Know it's the most important part - is there any place for a steam cleaner? i have a portable one, and was wondering if any cleaning/sterilisation could be done with this?

2. Am I ok to use normal household sugar in the fermentation barrel? the instructions state 'brewers' sugar.'

3. i have these 'brewing sphere' things - never seen one before. basically a globe-shaped barrel? one of them has a tap, which I was going to use as a fermentation barell, but the tap is halfway up the side, as opposed to the bottom? if i did pour from there, should i be tilting? surely not?

basic questions, i know - but i'm new to this!
