Definatley!

After fitting the blow off tube I must have really annoyed the yeast and it started throwing yeast plain clear of the bottle and bucket

So I gave the blow off bottle a cling film hat which stopped the yeast ending up on the floor, but by the morning quite a bit of yeast/wort had been chucked out of the fv.

Just taken a hydro sample of this and it's at 1016 from 1047 and it tastes lovely   8)
5 days in it's got to be finished ...hasn't it?
I kept it at a steady 18 deg c for the vigourous ferment and then moved it into the kitchen where it's been between 15 and 17 deg on average

I used SO4 and on the packet it has a minimum fermentation temp of 14 deg c but on Beersmith it says 17.8 deg c minimum :?

Beersmith is telling me I should be getting 73% attenuation with SO4 but I'm getting mine to be 64.92 through the attenuation tool.

As I overshot the OG by 7 points and the beer has now reached a FG 7 points above required, will the beer be as balanced as it was meant to be in the original recipe, or will it be sweeter than intended?

The taste is definately more rounded with the mineral additions and the harshness of the bitterness, and the hops has totally gone 8)

I thought so. I have a feeling it got a little cold for the yeast but it won't be that easy warming it back up again...not 60 ltrs :-k

Moved the fv back into the warmer front room last night and the yeast has kicked off again 8)

I am really glad I found this site. Looking at all your brewing equipment puts mine in the shade. I'm still using plastic boilers and buckets with garden hose pipe and clear tubing. When I get enough space I think I'll go semi pro at this.

Plastic buckets or flux-capacitor titanium boilers, it's all about the beer, WG :=P

Now that is SHINY! Lovely stuff. What is the small canister between the two top tanks? Heat exchanger, hop-back?

This beer is 9 days old and was fined 6 hours ago.
It's not a great photo but it gets the point across

I think the mineral additions have solved V1's hazy beer :pink:
