Premier Cru TC
Premier Cru TC
This is the first bottle of regular Tesco apple juice TC that I have opened, from our first stab at making some. Fermentation started about 2 months ago I guess - standard 4.5 litre recipe. I had no idea what to expect - I guess I thought it was a bit of a joke to be honest. But as you can hopefully see here the results - even for a complete beginner - look pretty good. The taste is very dry, not overly "appley", probably because I femented all the apple out of it. I did leave it for quite a long time before bottling. My wife is more of a cider drinker than me, and she says its very drinkable - probably too much! In short - if you haven't been tempted to give TC a try before, go for it...

TC makes another convert
True it'll never be anything spectacular but it's sooo easy to make and is a nice alternative to beer, especially on a hot day, and there's nothing like a totally homebrewed Poor Man's Black Velvet!
Oh and I think I have that glass, Dartington Crystal cider glass right? Very nice.

That looks perfect!! I'm wondering how much mine will settle if I leave it that long
It's cloudy atm but then I think it was too start with (memory fading from the TC) because of the pineapple I added. I am a cider drinker! and I think I'm in love with TC!!
Never been all that with beer and only really drunk real beer at college. You'll all want to kill me but generally I only drink South American, Italian, Indian, Chinese, Japanese brews. So I got a kit to brew cerveza but I think now I will probably just end up making TC all the time until I can perfect a Fruli or Banana beer or even Mango like at zero degrees micro brewery
Excuse the drunk waffle mmmm TC

Exactly as Fivetide states - he gave me the recipe in the first place. It really was the original apple juice that I primed with - keep the 1/2 litre you are left with in the 'fridge, marked up so no one drinks it.
Actually I've opened a few more bottles since that one and none have been quite as sexy, but still nicely carbonated and clear as a bell. I used regular Tesco clear apple juice, so the clarity is nothing to do with me!
Sorry not to have responded before - I didn't think anyone would read that thread..
