Brewday 23/04/2008 - Export Pilsner Kit

Thought I would post a few pictures of tonight’s easy session. Kit brews don’t seem to get mentioned much here (well ok, the pictures are not as interesting), so this is one to prove that if you have a busy family life home brewing is still within your reach.

Wife is out at work, so I did the kids bed time duties, cleaned up the kitchen, had a fight with the cat. Now for a brew. John Bull Export Pilsner tonight (is it true that these are no longer being made?)

All in all the brew took one and a half hours, and most of that was waiting for the water to filter through the Brita jugs.

Nice empty can next to my glass of Coopers Australian Lager (quality control you understand?)

Hey Daab you seem to have a similar quality control procedure to me!

Testing the werry now. Flavour has improved a lot, but still not clear.

Nice pictures Saint and a nice set of cornies too. I must say a 1 1/2 hour brew day does sound attractive 8)

Thanks. but look at the state of the rest of the garage!! So much stuff to get on ebay to pay for the cornies!! Any one after a racing bike?

Don't get me wrong I am not saying kits are best. I used to be AG all the way, and am getting the stuff together to start again, but I will keep a stock of kits for the weeks where things don't go to plan.

Just checked and the yeast is going mad already!! Straight from the packet and in only a few hours.

I can see a layer on the bottom and clumps on the top.

Good set of pic's 8) I still brew the occasional kit when time is tight, there are good results to be had :)

btw - what bike is it you are selling?
