Post by MartialAnt » Sat Apr 26, 2008 11:22 am

Got in from work was bored. Had 2 bottles of bitter so brewed to stop me from drinking any more.
I know some of you will be saying "aw bless he's making up a kit brew". Well i tell ya, when i finally make my shed at the bottom of the garden i'll start on the big boys stuff. Ms Ant didnt like the smell around the house after boiling up the last lot of hops. So im barred from doing it again in the kitchen.
AS IF I LISTEN TO HER!!!

Muntons IPA (2 can pack)
700g beerkit enhancer
300g brewing sugar (just to make it up to a kilo)

Saaz \
Goldings --- Hops (why, because i wanted to).
Fuggles /
Yes elecky scales but NO im not a drug dealer.

Did all the usual, Cleaned the gear.
Oh, i had to use half a capden tablet as i 'd had a drink. So i didnt make it to the shop for bottled water. Bollox.
Put 25g of each, saaz, fuggles & goldings in a pan, brought to boil then simmered for 20 mins.
After the 20 mins i added 10g of each fuggles & goldings and left about half hour to cool down.
Gave the pan of sugar a boiling to steralise it.
Then dumped the 2 tins, sugar & hop liquid into the FV & whisked it up.

This is my aerator. Yes its my cordless drill i use at work. So to prevent any contamination its wrapped in cling film.

Topped up to required amount like this (extra aerating).
