1 can of Tom Caxtons real ale.
1kg of Dark malt extract spraymalt (bagged).
Hops - Saaz, Goldings & Fuggles.
Cleaned gear.
Boiled up 25g of Saaz, Goldings & Fuggles for 45mins.
Added 10g Goldings & Fuggles for 15 more mins.
Added 15g of Goldings whilst cooling down.
Was a total experiment. I did ask if it would work later.
Heated up the DME in pan of water to disolve it.
I tipped the can, hops liquid & DME spraymalt into the FV.
Topped up to 30 pints.
I areated it with my cordless drill.
Got it to the point ready to add the yeast but i followed AoB advice and dropped in the full campden tablet. (We have talked about that since).
OG 1.050
Reyhdrated the yeast (my way). Added that.
Job done.
Tasting the beer i used for the hydrometer test was lurrrrrrvly. WOW what a kick. That momentary after taste you get from Hobgoblin, well this after taste you could still taste it on the inside of your cheeks 5 mins later.
36hours'ish later it stopped. Same reading 3 days later so i added 5 level tea spoons of yeast nutrient, 250g of beer enhancer and another pack of yeast. Still nothing.
Adding the nutrient has seemed to kill off a bit of the aroma leaving it with a sweeter smell.

Sod it, Ive just tried a sample as im soooooo intrigued by what its like.
OMG its deeeelish!!! Its got the aroma, its got the kick, its got that lingering after taste. Oh boy im c*ming in my pants. (im not really).
Sounding like that woman of Food & Drink in the 80's
The said sample.

Excuse the decorating. Its not cut in as i cant decide whether to cove it or not.
I thought it was ruined but now i know its tip top. Still needs 2 weeks to condition properly though.
Oh i found out after i made it that Saaz hops are for lager. WHO CARES!!!
Left - sheratons export bitter
Middle - Coopers Aussie lager
Right - Tom Caxtons real ale. Shows how dark it is.
