Woodfords Great estern ale help

Post by adamwalton » Mon May 05, 2008 5:58 pm

Guys,

I have a woodfords great eastern on the go at the moment.. but seem to have a little problem..
Its been in the the king keg now for over a month and it won't clear.

As instructed, I added the correct amount of brewing sugar when transferring it to the king keg, and it has been left to stand ever since.

but every time I draw some off to see what its doing it still very cloudy?

Has it gone?

Help

If it's a top tap, the float assembly may have come undone inside the keg. I've had this happen on two seperate kegs.

Otherwise, wait longer and it'll come good eventually. How's the taste?

I have decanted 2 bottles worth and stuck them in the fridge, they have sort of cleared 2 inches down (but still very cloudy) and the rest of the bottle is still the same,
It just seems to be taking a very long time, the other brew (another woodfords) has cleared and been drunk although this was made after the great eastern? although i didn't add sugar to this one...

Yes they are top taps, but I don't think (an am fairly sure) that the float is still on.
