I was given a copy of brewing beers like those you buy[12th edition] but does not state a/a levels of hops in the recipes just the amount of grams.Do newer copies have this info if not is there a way of working it out [hop a/a records for the year of first publication?]

I'd use the 10 year averages . . . which come from the big book of brewing IIRC and there is always the table in Grahams book to use :)

ive always just knocked 20% off the hops bill myself, not a particularly scientific method but seems to work. :D

With Mr Lines recipes I apply all the formula's that I have learnt from Jims and apply them to his recipies.
I first work out my Target OG, factor in my efficiency. From that you can work out what level of IBU's(EBU's? Which do we on jims prefer?).
