Recipe - favour

Post by ashbyp » Fri May 23, 2008 10:14 am

Could anyone possibly do me a big favour - and check what John Palmers Brown Ale recipe (extract+speciality) is in the latest edition of his book?

I know I can get an old version of the recipe online - but wanted to check if it's changed!

Help very much appreciated

There's one called Oak Butt Brown Ale, but its a full mash or partial mash recipe, not extract.

3.2kg Pale
0.9kg Victory
227g Crystal (60L)
113g Chocolate

14g Nugget
14g Willamette
IBU 25

og for 5.5 gallons (is that US?) 1049

Ok thanks - I thought that there was an extract version of everything in the recipe section...

Yeah - all his stuff is in US gallons AFAIK.

There is an extract/grain recipe (in the middle of the page where it says options). It's just those weights of grain, and instead of the pale malt its 1.8kg pale LME.

I checked the index for brown ales, 2 recipies for the same thing.

There's full mash or a mash with a percentage of the pale and everything else, then some liquid malt extract.

Not much help really :(
