Belgian Abbey Beer

Hello, I have recently become a Leffe addict, and thought I would have a go at brewing my own abbey beer. I was going to try the Brewferm Abbey Beer kit. Has anybody tried this before? Is it worth using sprymalt, or simply sugar? Thanks.
