1st AG Brewday - Now with some pics

My Kit arrived from H&G this morning and I just can't resist temptation so I'm going do a 5G trial run.

Looks like it's going to be a Townes IPA clone curtesy of Garth.

I've washed the boiler out and have currently got 40ltrs of thames valley water coming to the boil with a campden tab for use later when I put mini-munky to bed.

More details and possibly pics later.

Good luck and fingers crossed.
I've just finished a 2 brew day (Shefford Old Strong, William Black's X ale) and am now cracking into lots of previously made alcohol

First time using beersmith too - I'm guessing it looks ok?

should have been 72g cascade for 60mins

Right, mashing has started.

I some how managed get my strike temp bang on and the mash settled to 66.2c after stirring the porridge.

Now we wait (read wipe down the kitchen tops before SWMBO castrates me) for 60 mins.

Oh..... I have to connect the tubing to my wort chiller. Oh and weigh the hops.

This is fun isn't it

not to panic you but shouldn't the mash temp be about 67Â°c?

edit: ah ok you updated the post, 66.2Â°c is much better than 60.2Â°c.

How much water should I use and what temp? Or should I use some of the first run wort?

Yes you can dry pitch the yeast.

1 pack will suffice, 200mls at 25-35 deg c

I'm guessing wort, but which yeast?
