Capmden Tablets Im confused

How do I use campden tablets

Do I add one to the wort when mixed with the water just before adding the yeast?

Or do you need to add it water alone.

Im a bit confused on this one.

Add half a crushed campden tablet to the water before adding anything else to it. It acts to remove chloramines which can taint beer when brewing.
