Milestone kits

Post by simon » Wed May 07, 2008 8:10 am

Just a quick note to say that the milestone kits will be back in about two weeks.
British Diamalt closed down 6 weeks ago and as the major supplier to Vina of beer and wine kits caused vina to close down as well.
so with 22 years service gone its time to start again, hopefully the springhead kits will follow shortly and the new Tap a draft system is on its way as well.

Milestone will be. As per one of my previous posts, Milestone were never in trouble - their linkage to B Diamalt caused the "going under rumour".

I think it was assumed that Diamalt canned the kits, as well as the Springhead kits.

I'd be surprised if they maintain a dehydration and canning facility at the brewery in Cromwell? It's not exactly big...

This doesn't make any sense..You need a canning plant to produce these kits..I appreciate Milestone Craft brewery themselves were never in trouble..it was Diamalt who produced the kits for them that have gone bust..So who then is producing the new kits for them if its not Diamalt?

My point is that you need a canning plant to produce these kits and the only other people I can think of that have a plant capable of doing it are Muntons!

Cheers!

Milestone kits

Milestone kits will be produced by Muntons. I was told this was probable by my local brew shop so i sent an email to Milestone directly. They replied saying it would be Muntons and they would be making an announcement shortly. This is excellent news as i had just switched from Woodfordes.

It is good news.

Incidentally, why did you switch from the Woodeforde's kits? They're produced by Munton's too.

Hi.
I switched from Woodfordes because the Milestone ones were better. Now they will produced by MUntons it maybe different. There is another thread that suggests this maybe the case.
We'll have to wait and see if this is the case.
I also had trouble with the fermentaion process with the Woodfordes kits. Mind you the Great Eastern is one of the best kits i have ever tried.
