Irish moss storage

What's the best place to store Irish moss? I've just got some from the LHBS but don't know the best place to store it. Dark cupboard, fridge, freezer?

In its plastic tub, in the plastic crate in my brewing shed....seems to last for ages.

Thanks folks. One more question. Why add it to the end of the boil. Won't it be more effective if it's in there for the length of the boil, or does it impart some off-flavours if boiled too long?
